Chemical Reactions is the study of various reaction types and the physical and chemical properties that govern chemical reactions. Properties of Matter (SC366) is a prerequisite for this course. 

At the conclusion of the course students will be able to:

Understand the relationships of physical properties of gases and how they are related 

Understand phase changes and reactions based on attractions between particles

Determine energy transfer in phase changes and reactions

Determine concentration measurements  and their effect on solution properties 

Relate rates of reaction to concentration & predict rate laws

Understand chemical equilibrium and predict how changes affect it

Identify the properties of acids and bases and their reactions

Calculate concentrations and pH values for solutions

Write and balance equations for oxidation-reduction reactions

Unit 3: Solutions & Colligative Properties (Ch 13)

Unit 4: Kinetics (Ch 14)

Unit 5: Chemical Equilibrium (Ch 15-16)

Unit 6: Electrochemistry (Ch 4 & 20)
